Farmers Market Opens at N.C. Research Campus

The sweet smells and flavors of locally-grown fruits and vegetables return to downtown Kannapolis on Thursday, May 20, as the N.C. Research Campus Farmers Market kicks off its third year. The 2010 market, located in the parking lot across from the Amtrak station on Main Street, will be open on Thursdays from 4 to 7 p.m. until September 30.

Attend the Seminar Series at the N.C. Research Campus

Every Tuesday in May from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Faculty from the Plants for Human Health Institute and N.C. MarketReady will deliver weekly seminars to discuss the programs they lead for N.C. State. This will give the public an opportunity to learn more about the research and outreach conducted at Kannapolis for the benefit of the entire state. Presentations are free and open to the public each Tuesday in May from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the N.C. Research Campus in Kannapolis.

Southeast Strawberry Expo

November 8-10, 2009 Expo attendees may attend educational sessions, workshops and an industry trade show at the Sheraton Imperial Hotel. They will also have the opportunity to tour Vollmer Farm in Bunn, N.C., and several Raleigh sites including the N.C. State Micropropagation Unit, the NCDA&CS Agronomics Lab and the N.C.
