More information about Abdulkerim Eroğlu

The laboratory of Dr. Abdulkerim (Kerim) Eroglu is working on illustrating the effects of inflammation and oxidative stress on carotenoid and retinoid metabolism using in vitro and animal models. Establishing chemoprevention of lung cancer by carotenoids and studying the diet-gene interactions to link carotenoids to metabolic diseases are two additional research foci.

His research interests in biochemistry are:
· Carotenoid chemistry
· Carotenoid metabolism
· Enzymology
· Epigenetics
· Lipid metabolism
· Metabolomics
· Metagenomics
· Proteomics
· Retinoid metabolism

His research interests in nutrition are:
· Biomarkers
· Intestinal absorption of carotenoids
· Nutrient-Gene interactions
· Nutrigenomics
· Vitamin A deficiency
· Vitamin A metabolism
